9AM Formation hour
Our Fall Schedule (begins September 21, 2008)
Godly Play (Age 3 through Sixth Grade):
Godly Play is a Montessori-inspired program designed to teach children the art of
religious language, parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgy in a community of
their peers. In this program, children enter sacred space, listen and respond to
sacred story under the care of trained leaders, and share in a feast. It is designed
to give children an opportunity to experience and to discuss their own unique
relationships with God.
Venus Tavares and other volunteers will be putting together this new and exciting
curriculum for Ascension. If you would like to help, please speak with Fr. Greg.
Journey to Adulthood (Grades 7-12)
Is a six-year program of spiritual formation for young people based on two key
concepts: (1) manhood and womanhood are gifts from God, and (2) adulthood must
be earned. The in-depth exploration of self, spirituality, sexuality and society,
provides a foundation upon which the young adult can build for a lifetime. Trained,
and committed adult members of the worshipping community lead the program.
Ben Sibielski, with another volunteer, will be leading the youth group. If you are

Adult Education:
Questions for the 21st Century Christian is the subtitle for our adult formation
gathering. We will engage two wonderful resources in our conversation and
discovery, Sojourners and Via Media. See below the schedule of proposed adult
learning opportunities.
